Film Friday: Paragliding in Pokhara

We spent about a week relaxing in Pokhara after our ABC trek. It is a good place for relaxing as it is situated next to a large lake. There are lots of little restaurants along the water front and many more in town, where you can sit back and eat your weight in daal bhat. After a few days of not being very busy we ventured to the World Peace Pagoda where we got some nice but cloudy views of the city. This is probably when I realised I wanted to leap off the mountain, preferably with a parachute attached and so on our last day that is just what we did. The drive up to the top of the hill was fun and there was a nervous energy in our car, it soon disappeared once we were up in the air. That was until my pilot took me a little too close to a tree and was audibly relieved that we didn’t end up attached to some of the upper branches. The views over the lake and town were amazing and it was easy to see why Pokhara is considered one of the best places in the World to go paragliding.

Here is the video that Pinion recorded on her descent:

I’ve never paraglided, although I did once do a tandem parachute jump and since the best bit was floating to the ground, I think I’d like paragliding. Paragliding in Nepal would be even better.

Loved the soundtrack! What a laugh!

I think a parachute jump is a lot higher in the Adrenalin department! If you go back to Nepal then Pokhara is a great place to relax and paraglide 🙂
